Auditions at Talent Box set for Jan
Special to The Monitor
WILLS POINT–Auditions will be held at The Talent Box, for the play “Perfect Crime,” written by Warrren Manzi. The play will be directed by Jane Gamon of Myrtle Springs.
Audition dates for 2012 are 2 p.m. Jan. 8, and 7 p.m. Jan. 9. Production dates are March 2 -4, 9 -10.
To fill the cast, Gamon will need one female, age 30 to 50 and three males, age 25 to 60. One male to appear on a video only.
If Agatha Christi and Philip Roth collaborated on a murder mystery, the result might be “Perfect Crime.”
The play takes place in the sitting room of the Brent home in upper-crust Connecticut neighborhood in present day.
Over several nights of one eventful week, a decades-old mystery unfolds. Psychiatrist Margaret Thorne Brent is on the verge of best selling, Oprah Windrey-appearance success. But there’s a nettlesome secret from her past that will keep you guessing.
Enter James Ascher, a local police inspector who’s interested in the case and maybe more; throw in Margaret’s insufferable husband and an unstable patient and you have the ingredients of a murder mystery that will keep you guessing.
The Talent Box is a non-profit community theatre located at 244 North Fourth St. in Wills Point.
For more information, call Jane at (903) 865-1665.
