  Howard Ford
Services for Howard Ford, 81, Kemp, were held Dec. 19, 2008, in the Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel in Kemp with Tim Stevens officiating. Burial followed in Baker Cemetery.
Ford was born Oct. 21, 1927, in Edom to the late Lydia Ann Shelton and James W. “Billy” Ford and died Dec. 16, 2008, in Dallas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Leon, Pete and David Ford and sister Leatha Arnold.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in the 989th Air Engineer Squadron.
He was a member of the Church of Christ in Kemp.
He was married to the former Margie N. Reed Oct. 30, 1948, in Phalba. He retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dallas Nov. 30, 1990, after 20 years.
Survivors include his wife Margie Ford, Kemp; son Howard E. Ford and wife Lorrie, Payne Springs; granddaughters Brandi Pasquinelli and husband Bryan; Kelli Creech and husband Charlie; Corie Ford and Chris Ford; great-grandchildren Rebekah and Savannah Pasquinelli; and Alana and Nicholas Ford; sisters Vira Blanche Dalton, Athens; and Evadee Stricklin, Irving; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Arthur Nichols
Arthur George “A.G.” Nichols, was born Aug. 22, 1946, in Muskogee Okla. to Naomi and George Nichols and died Dec. 16, 2008, at his home in Payne Springs. Arrangements are under the direction of Moorhead-Epps Funeral Home of Gun Barrel City.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years Cindi; sons Steve Harris, Gene Nichols, Wesley Tutor and Kevin Tutor; and six grandchildren.

Larry Byers
Services for Larry Floyd Byers, 53, Athens, were held Dec. 19, 2008, at the Tomlinson Funeral Home Chapel in Malakoff with Hamp Manning officiating. Burial was in Wortham Cemetery.
Byers was born June 8, 1955, in Dallas to the late Iona Farmer and Edward Byers and died Dec. 18, 2008, in Athens. His spouse was Norma Byers.
He was self-employed in auto body work.
Survivors include his daughters Priscilla Byers and Shannon Byers; brother Edward Byers Jr.; grandchildren Jayda Byers, Bryson Byers and Destiny Bailey.

Tommy Barnes
Memorial services for Tommy G. Barnes, 26, Mabank, were held Dec. 22, 2008, at Prairieville Baptist Church under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home in Kaufman.
Barnes was born July 23, 1982, in Terrell and died Dec. 17, 2008, in an automobile accident near Mabank.
He was preceded in death by his father Tommy Gail Barnes in 1990.
He was a lifelong resident of Mabank and was a member of the Prairieville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter Kirstin Barnes, Mabank; mother Elizabeth Jean Barnes, Mabank; brother Jarrad Barnes, Dallas; sisters Amy Bailey, Mabank; and Leesa Logan-Barnes, Grapevine.
