MISD exam for acceleration
opportunity

MABANK–Mabank Independent School District will provide the opportunity
for students to advance through Examinations For Acceleration (Credit By
Exam) in order to test out of a grade level (grades K – 5) or course
(grades 6 – 12). Testing will occur May 31 and June 1-2, and August 2-4.
In order for your child to participate in the June testing, you must
register at your child’s campus by Friday, April 28.
In order for your child to participate in the August testing, you may
register at your child’s campus by April 28, or Friday, July 7, at the
high school campus.
Registration hours are 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
A $25 deposit will be required for each exam taken.
Mabank Independent School District does not discriminate on the basis of

El Distrito Independiente De La Escuela De Mabank proporcionará la
oportunidad para estudiantes para avanzar por Exámenes Para la

Kemp High School 2006 Prom a
success
Special to The Monitor
DALLAS–The Kemp High School Prom for 2006 was held at the Adams Mark
Hotel in Dallas Saturday, April 15.
This was a special evening for all, since it would be the last night
together before graduation, which will send them on their separate ways.
The Senior Song this year was “Time of Your Life,” the class colors were
orange, white and silver, and the class flower was a white rose.
The class motto was “Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where
there is no path and leave a trail,” by Ralph Waldo Emerson.
The program began with the welcome by Erin Cox.
Laura Fogleman crowned Michael Haney King and Barbie Kilgore Queen.
Erin Cox crowned Leif Skierski Prince and Lindsey Wright Princess.
Senior Class officers were president Julie Addison, vice president Terra
Markham, secretary Dianna Carter and treasurer Isabel Lopez.
Voted Best Dressed were Taylor Atkins and Jon Ellison.
Senior Class sponsors were Mary Fickle, Phil Hale, Jayna Hyde, James
Massarelli, James Lewis, Barbara Wagner, Mark Howson, Chris Valentine
and Marietta Maxwell.
The Junior Class officers were president Erin Cox, vice president Laura
Fogleman, secretary Alex Valentine and treasurer Candace Sherbert.
Junior Class sponsors were Barbara McFaul, Rhonda Jones, Tom Hatch,
Daniel Sue, Margaret McGuire, Judd Lewis, Kenneth Pointer, Bob Odell and
Larry Sandlin.
Junior Class song was “Here’s to the Night,” class colors were blue,
green and silver, and their flower was a Day Lily.
Junior Class motto was “I always knew that looking back on the tears
would make me laugh, but I never knew that looking back on the laughs
would make me cry.”
