Ronald Lindsey
Graveside services for Ronald Lockridge Lindsey, 61, Kemp, were held
Aug. 12, 2006, at the Kemp Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Addison
officiating under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home
of Kemp.
Lindsey was born Jan. 10, 1945, in Lubbock, son of Fred and Virgie
McCann Lindsey, and passed away Aug. 10, 2006. in Athens
Survivors include his children Rolanda Hutchins, Ritchie Lindsey,
Rosalind Baker and her husband Mitch, Rose Marie Askew, DeShaunda
Lindsey: his children’s mother Cleo Lindsey; grandchildren Gus Hutchins,
Nicolette Hutchins, Kasey Markham, Brittany Markham, Ryan Lindsey and
Clayton Lindsey; sisters Ava Nell Robertson, Marjorie Bogard, Rebecca
Boreman.
He was preceded in death by a brother Arthur “Bud” Lindsey.
Richard Taaffe
Services for Richard Taaffe, 83, Malakoff, were held Aug. 14, 2006, at
First United Methodist Church of Trinidad with the Revs. John Watson and
Ray Sparks officiating.
Masonic graveside services were held in Mankin Cemetery under the
direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens.
Taaffe was born Oct. 13, 1922, in Opelika community to the late Robert
Lee and Ruby Victoria King Taaffe, and died Aug. 11, 2006, at his
residence. He was preceded in death by a son Robbie Kelsey in 1978 and
brother Dee Taaffe.
He grew up and attended school in Trinidad. He worked all over the world
and retired from Occidental Oil Company in 1966.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 759 in Malakoff.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years Billie Taaffe, Malakoff; brother
Thomas Taaffe, Trinidad; sisters Jesse Nell Rhineberg, Fort Worth; and
Frances Rittman, El Paso; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
one great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Roger Kieschnick, Dewayne Barcheers, Trev Powell and
Jim Odell.
John Taylor
Services for John “Judo” Taylor, 18, Lafayette, La., were held Aug. 13,
2006, at the First Baptist Church, Eustace with the Revs. Paul McKinney
and Mark Jones officiating under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek
Funeral Home in Mabank.
Taylor was born Dec. 20, 1987, in Tampa, Fla. and died Aug. 11, 2006, in
Mabank.
Previously of Louisiana, he had lived in Eustace for the past three
years. He graduated from Eustace High School and was a baseball star.
Survivors include his father Ray Taylor, Lafayette, La.; mother Nancy
Taylor, Odessa; brothers Raymond Taylor, Midland, Miss.; Andre Taylor,
Lafayette, La.; and Joshua Taylor, Odessa; sisters Cathy Taylor,
Altamante Springs, Fla.; and Debbie Meringola, Kissimmee, Fla.; many
friends.
Verna Mae Baker
Verna Mae Baker, 77, Eustace, died Aug. 13, 2006, in Athens. She was
born may 9, 1929, in Alton Ill. Arrangements were under the direction of
Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
She was preceded in death by her husband Nolan D. Baker and a daughter
Connie Ladell Baker.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her sons, Nolan Douglas Baker, Roger Dale Baker and
James Baker; daughters Susan Kay Bates, Debra Wilson and Kathy Amason.
