Freddie Lynn Colvin
Services for Freddie Lynn Colvin, 43, Trinidad, were held Aug. 18, 2006,
in the Trinidad Methodist Church with Bro. Bailey officiating. Burial
was in Trinidad Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home
of Malakoff.
Colvin was born July 7, 1943, in Aley and died July 15, 2006, in Tyler.
He was preceded in death by brothers Ansel and Less Colvin and sisters
Doris McMillan and Helen Powell.
She had worked for the city of Trinidad since 1979 and was in the U.S.
Army from 1963 until 1969.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years Susie Colvin; daughter Ashley
Colvin and her fiancee Tyson Miller; son Aaron Colvin and one grandson
Clayton Pierce; sisters Gail Brown, Billy Thorton, Rachel Voight and
Nelda Hendrix; brothers Harold Colvin, Richard Colvin and Dewain Colvin;
one grandchild.
Pallbearers were Bill Gunnels, William Ramsey, Larry Agan, Roosevelt
Womack, Steve Wiggins, Kenneth Carter and Richard Gunnels.
Honorary pallbearers were nephews from both sides of the family.
Billy Mathews
Services for Billy Mathews, 63, Log Cabin, were held Aug. 19, 2006, in
Grace Fellowship Church, Eustace with Brother John Smith officiating.
Burial was in Payne Springs Cemetery under the direction of Cain-Brown’s
Memorial Funeral Home in Malakoff.
Mathews died Aug. 14, 2006, in a Houston hospital.
He was born in Dallas and moved to Log Cabin. He was an electrician and
volunteer fireman.
Survivors include his wife Pearl Lewis, Houston; sons Marty Mathews,
Seven Points; and Jason Lewis, Houston; sisters Marcella Ruyle, Log
Cabin; Marrita Chaves and Frances Chaves, both of California; brothers
Butch Hillard, Leland; Olin Ray Womack, Sherman; Cecil Womack, Combine;
and Michael L. Womack, Princeton; nine grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Irene Crowell
Services for Irene Evanell Crowell, 87, Mesquite, were held Aug. 19,
2006, at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Barry Boatright
officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Retreat Cemetery in Tyler under the
direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Crowell was born Aug. 4, 1919, in Grand Saline and died Aug. 15, 2006,
in Mesquite. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Jimmy
Donald Luther, first husband PFC Floyd Luther, grandson Randy Lynn Pace
and husband Montie Crowell.
Previously of Gun Barrel City, Crowell resided in Mesquite. She was a
saleslady for Margo’s Lamode in Dallas and retired in 1978.
Survivors include sons Robert Wayne Luther and wife Patsy, Duncanville;
Danny Ray Crowell and wife Linda, Mesquite; Norman Lee Crowell and wife
Brenda, Austin; Montie Crowell Jr. and wife Effie, Anderson, S.C.; and
Bobby Crowell and wife Mary, Dallas; daughters Joan Pace and husband
Joe, Bullard; and Dorothy Greer and husband Troy, Red Oak; 18
grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren;
nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
Lois Nell Richie
Services for Lois Nell Richie, 74, Mabank, were held Aug. 19, 2006, at
Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Byron Jones officiating.
Burial was in Tool Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek
Funeral Home in Mabank.
Richie was born Oct. 26, 1931, in Kemp and died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006,
in Hurst.
She was a longtime resident of Mabank and was a member of the First
Baptist Church of Gun Barrel City. She was a secretary.
Survivors include son Francis Paul Redmond and wife Wanda, Euless;
daughters Marilyn Redmond Sibley and husband Don, Dallas; and Sandra
Richie Agnew and husband Bob, Franklyn, Pa.; seven grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; other family members and many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation or a
charity of your choice.
