  Thanksgiving ads due
The Monitor will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26, for Thanksgiving Day. Some ad deadlines have been changed.
The deadlines for both display and classified advertisements has passed for the Sunday, Nov. 22, issue of The Monitor.
Display ads for the Thursday, Nov. 26, issue of The Monitor are due at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20. Classified ads are due by noon Monday, Nov. 23.
Display ads for the Sunday, Nov. 29, issue of The Monitor are due at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24. Classified ads are due by noon Wednesday, Nov. 25.
The display ad deadline for the Wednesday, Nov. 25, issue of the Lake Area Leader has passed. Classified ads are due by noon Thursday (today).
Both display ads and classified ads for the Wednesday, Dec. 2, issue of the Lake Area Leader are due at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Hospice volunteers

Veterans lunch

The Confederate Rose Chapter 2548, United Daughters of the Confederacy, meets at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at Tri-County Library. Visitors welcome.

Mabank Eastern Star
The Mabank Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Number 821, will hold its annual Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Mabank Middle School cafetorium.

Church observes 144th
Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kemp is celebrating its 144th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22. The public is invited.

CC Civic League to meet
The Cedar Creek Civic League meets at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at The Library at Cedar Creek Lake, Seven Points. Bring sweat suits for Head Start kids. For information call Tina at (903) 451-2969.

Thanksgiving Day dinner
St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at 130 Luther Lane, GBC, across from Pizza Hut, is hosting a free Thanksgiving Day dinner of turkey and all the trimmings from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 26, for those in need or alone. All are welcome.

Santa to visit Grooms
Santa will visit Groom & Sons’ Hardware from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28. Bring your camera and take pictures of your visit with Santa.

GBC Toys for Tots
Gun Barrel City Toys for Tots and its police department are accepting applications for GBC, Mabank and Payne Springs families in need from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. beginning Monday, Nov. 30, through Friday, Dec. 4. For information or to donate, call Cheyenne Lyons at (903) 887-3141.

CC Literary Club

MVFD chili supper
The Mabank Fire Department is hosting its 16th annual chili supper from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Mabank Fire Station, 111 E. Mason St.

Toys for Tots drop-off
The Gun Barrel City Toys for Tots annual toy drop-off is set for 1 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 12, at Brawner Hall. Accepting new, unwrapped toys for ages infant through 18 years. Drive-through and drop-off donations.

The deadline for submission is 4 p.m. Monday for each Thursday’s issue and 4 p.m. Wednesday for each Sunday’s issue. Announcements will run for four issues (two weeks).
Organizations needing to relay more information on services or events, or who seek a longer promotion time, are encouraged to call our advertising staff at (903) 887-4511.
MediaOne LLC considers non-profit organizations to be groups operating primarily on a volunteer basis providing a service for others. Organizations with paid employees are no longer able to use this venue to promote their services.
