Anthony delivers winning kick for ’Jackets

KEMP–The Kemp Yellowjackets, behind the strong leg of kicker Tenilee Anthony, took a last second win over the Eustace Bulldogs with a late field goal.
Paxton Schwartz opened the scoring for the Bulldogs on a 33-yard touchdown run to give Eustace a 6-0 lead with 5:48 remaining in the first quarter. 
The Eustace defense helped out on offense under a minute later as Christian Case intercepted a pass and ran the ball in from 33 yards out for the touchdown. Jake Haney added a two-point conversion for the Bulldogs to make it a 14-0 game. 
Kemp quarterback Deacon Thompson found a wide-open Collin Boyle for a 57-yard touchdown pass to cut the deficit to 14-7.
Laramie Greathouse added a late touchdown on a 40-yard catch to make it a 14-13 game entering the second quarter.
Case added his second touchdown of the night with a 42-yard touchdown to put Eustace back in front, 22-13.
Kemp opened the door for a Eustace score as they fumbled a punt return from their own 15-yard line as the Bulldogs increased their lead to 30-13 in the second quarter. 
The ’Jackets rallied late in the second half as Thompson added a six-yard touchdown run and Trent McBride notched a two-yard touchdown to make it a 36-34 game at halftime. 
Anthony delivered the final blow as she drilled a 28-yard field goal to give the ’Jackets a 37-36 win over the Bulldogs. 
The loss drops Eustace to 2-4 overall on the season with an 0-2 district record. The win moves Kemp to 3-3 overall and 2-0 to begin their district schedule.
