Bill Eder Escanlar, 75 of Mabank passed away May 28, 2019 in Guimbal, Iloilo, Philippines. Bill was born Oct. 1, 1943 in Igbaras, Iloilo, Philippines to parents Gorgonia Eder and Antipas Escanlar.
Bill married Maria Imelda “Nennet” Erfe Escanlar March 14, 1989 in Dallas.
Bill’s beginnings began in agriculture and carpentry in the Philippines. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1969 and began working in hospitality/service industry for 44 years and served as server, renowned bartender, dining room manager and maître d and was employed with Ports O’ Call (Sheraton Downtown Dallas), The Shores Country Club in Rockwall, Lakewood Country Club in Dallas and Athens Country Club in Athens.
Bill was preceded in death by parents Antipas and Gorgonia (Eder) Escanlar, brother Antonio Escanlar and Son Reynaldo Escanlar.
He is survived by his wife Maria Imelda “Nennet” Escanlar of Mabank, children Ludy Escanlar of Dallas, Bill Escanlar, Jr. of Dallas, Carlos Escanlar of Austin, Josephine and Victor Villalobos of Mesquite, Rachel Escanlar of Tyler and Xavier Escanlar of Tyler, 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, siblings Napoleon and Carmen Escanlar of Igbaras, Iloilo, Philippines), Ted and Purificacion Escanlar of Igbaras, Iloilo, Philippines, Perla Abadesco of Rowlett, Aurora and Rey SolCruz of Dallas and Salvacion Escanlar of Mesquite.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. June 10, 2019 in Igbaras, Iloilo, Philippines with Interement following at Igbaras Municipal Cemetery in Igbaras, Iloilo, Philippines A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. July 17, 2019 in Flag Pole Hill, Dallas.
