Bulldogs shutout in contest against Tigers

WILLS POINT–The Eustace Bulldogs couldn’t find their offense as they were shutout March 15 on the road against the Wills Point Tigers.
The Bulldogs surrendered a run in the bottom of the first inning as they fell behind 1-0 after the first inning.
After both teams went scoreless in the second inning, the Tigers plated seven runs in the bottom of the third inning to increase their lead to 8-0.
The Bulldogs allowed a single run in both the fourth and fifth inning as they put up a goose egg on the scoreboard in a 10-0 loss to the Tigers.
The Bulldogs had just six base runners in the loss to the Tigers with Cade Adair, Kole Graham, Carson Kelly and Sam Marquez picking up the four hits for Eustace. Kobe Borcadt and William Clarke each reached base on a walk and a hit by pitch.
Borcadt took the loss on the mound for Eustace as he went 2.2 innings, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on seven hits with three walks and three strikeouts.
Codie Anthony came on in relief, pitching 1.1 innings and giving up one run on one hit with Marquez pitching a third of an inning for Eustace and surrendering one run on three hits with one strikeout.
The loss drops Eustace to 2-7-1 on the season.
Eustace returns to the field after their bye week Tuesday, March 26 against Mildred at home with first pitch for the varsity game scheduled for 7 p.m.
