Church enjoys another golf tourney at the Pinnacle Club
MABANK–The Cedar Creek Lake United Methodist Church (CCLUMC) played their 14th Annual golf tournament April 29 hosted by the Pinnacle Club in Mabank.
The tournament would not be a success without the sponsors and golfers who raised over $24,000 to support Cedar Creek Lake United Methodist Church’s Outreach programs. Their major sponsor was once again Big Daddy’s Flea Market and Shirley Hart (CEO) kicked the tournament off with a nice check again this year. CCLUMC thanked Shirley for her support over the last 14 years.
First place went to the team of John Yonker, Leo Singleton, Dr. Daniel Scott and John Stubbs. Second place was the team of Butch Wilhelm, Gayle Robinson and John Everett. Third place was a team from First Methodist Church of Athens and was composed of Terry Fleming, Tommy Durden, Harold Rash and Mike Wood.
The Most Honest Team trophies went to Phil Giesey, Ralph Terry, Terry Brown and Bobby Knott also from First United Methodist Church of Athens.
Gayle Robinson won Closest to the Pin for women and Terry Fleming for men. Kelley Meza had the Longest Drive for women and Jim Taylor for the men.
CCLUMC thanks Teague Chevrolet again for sponsoring their “Hole in One Car,” which was once again returned without an owner-but next year--they can only hope.
What a great event for all those involved. Great weather, great course and a thanks to Pinnacle and thanks to all the terrific volunteers.
