Crawfish Boil by Meat Mafia benefits Mabank Athletic Booster Club
CEDAR CREEK LAKE–Saturday, May 4, 2019 is the day that you’ll want to be at Mabank Pavilion early and plan to stay awhile so you don’t miss a thing at the 2019 Cedar Creek Lake Car Show & Mabank Athletic Booster Club Crawfish Boil.
The 2019 food corner will feature the popular Meat Mafia cooking up crawfish with all the trimmings. Crawfish sales benefit the Mabank Athletic Booster Club this year. The almost-famous chamber Grill Team will once again be cooking burgers and hot dogs, and the concession will be open early with donuts and coffee for those early birds who want to get the first glimpse of the arriving cars. Crawfish will be served from 10:30 a.m. until all is gone.
Chamber President Jo Ann Hanstrom said, “Through the generosity of our sponsors and donors of goods and services, we’re pleased to be able to offer concession items that are reasonably priced and affordable for families. It’s important to us to be family-friendly with public events such as this.” Parking and entry to the Car Show are free to the public.
Hanstrom went on to say, “We’re proud of this annual event, not only for the family-friendly atmosphere, but also for the visitors it brings to our community. We understand the economic impact of visitors coming for an event, having a great time, and returning time after time to enjoy beautiful Cedar Creek Lake.”
The cars will start rolling in by 7 a.m., with registration opening at 8 a.m. Registration fee is $20 per car, whether pre-registered or registering the day of. According to the Car Show Committee Chair, Bill Hanstrom, there are already more than 100 cars pre-registered, but the grounds of the Mabank Pavilion offer lots of space for parking the show cars and the owners are encouraged to bring their tents for shade and plan to sit back and relax, eat a lot, visit with the crowd and enjoy the day.
Besides the delicious food and outstanding show cars, trucks and motorcycles, the Cedar Creek Lake Antique Tractor Club will be on hand to show off their machines. There will be sponsor/vendors on hand, plus new cars from local dealers, and KCKL 95.9 FM will be there, providing music and their own brand of fun.
Entry forms for the Car Show are available through the chamber of commerce office for those wanting to pre-register. There will be door prizes, t-shirts for all pre-registered entries, 50/50 raffle, and lots of good music to add to the festive day. The Cedar Creek Lake Car Show traditionally hosts close to 200 cars.
Proceeds from the Cedar Creek Lake Car Show benefit the Cedar Creek Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, so they can continue their program of work supporting the Cedar Creek Lake business community.
