Clean sweep: Spain snags 300th win

EUSTACE–Eustace Lady Bulldogs Head Volleyball Coach Natosha Spain hit a career milestone in Eustace’s district win over the Palmer Lady Bulldogs Oct. 1 at home.
With the three-set sweep over Palmer, Spain notched her 300th career win in front of a raucous home crowd Friday afternoon.
The first set began with a kill from Izzy McCord to put Eustace in front 1-0.
After the first kill, Eustace built up a 5-1 that slowly slipped away as their lead slimmed down to 9-7.
After Eustace held a small 14-12 lead, they distanced themselves from Palmer 19-14, forcing a timeout.
A blocked from Trayli Tandarich closed out the first set as Eustace 25-15 over Palmer.
Eustace opened a big 6-1 lead. An ace from Bailey Billings increased their lead to 12-7, leading to another Palmer timeout.
Eustace allowed just three more points to win 25-10, taking a two sets to zero lead.
After Palmer started strong with a 3-1 lead in the third set, Eustace rattled off a 5-1 run to take a 6-4 lead.
Another kill from McCord tied the set 10-10 before Emma Bell delivered an ace to put Eustace back in front 11-10.
Eustace ended the set on a 14-8 run to wrap up the three-set sweep with a 25-18 win.
The win moves Eustace to 19-7 overall and 6-1 in district play as they sit in second place behind undefeated Scurry-Rosser (7-0).
