Combs receives DAR community service award

CORSICANA–The Daughters of the American Revolution recognized two individuals for their exceptional contributions with the organization’s Community Service Award. Both individuals have taken upon themselves a leadership role in raising architectural elements that are meant to convey deep meaning and honor on the past and preserve history for many more future generations.

Just in time for Memorial Day, Danny Combs of Kerens was recognized for spearheading the construction and maintenance of the Kerens Veterans Memorial, which he has long called a “labor of love.”

The James Blair Chapter of DAR presented Combs and Navarro County Judge H.M. Davenport Jr. with these special awards during a May 22 ceremony at Kinsloe House in Corsicana.
