KERENS – Under bright blue skies, a years-long dream to overhaul Kerens ISD facilities kicked off. Ground breaking ceremonies were held May 11, signifying the start of nearly $17 million in upgrades, approved by voters in 2017.
“It is an honor to be here today,” schoolboard president Teresa Jennings said in her opening remarks. “I’d like to welcome all of you to this very important day in our school’s future.”
She also expressed gratitude to those whose diligent efforts brought the community to this auspicious occasion. “I’d like to thank the bond committee members who worked so hard putting the bond together, the community who voted for it, the staff who work here, and the students we serve. This is an exciting time for Kerens ISD.”
