Bobcats celebrate student-athletes, staff and coaches

CROSS ROADS–The Cross Roads Bobcats and Lady Bobcats honored their 2018-19 student-athletes at their athletic banquet May 13 at Cross Roads High School.
Most valuable player for each sport as well as different superlatives were handed out to male and female athletes Monday night at Cross Roads High School to show the appreciation all the athletes deserved for their efforts on the field, court, the green, in the weight room and in the classroom throughout the school year.
Wesley Rogers took home the MVP for boys’ cross-country with Natalie Fulton winning girls’ MVP in cross-country for Cross Roads.
Senior Bobcat football player Garrett Martin took home the football MVP award for the 2018 season.
Bailee Stanfield and Hanna Latham each went home with the MVP award for the Lady Bobcats volleyball squad.
Jordan Hooten was named the boys’ basketball MVP with Jasyn Hughes being awarded the girls’ basketball MVP award.
Wesley Rogers was the boys’ track and field MVP with Natalie Fulton taking home the girls’ track and field MVP honor Monday night.
Eli Wilson was named the Cross Roads baseball MVP with Bailee Stanfield and Gracyn Cunningham being named co-MVPs for the Lady Bobcats softball team.
Alex Marsten was named the Bobcats powerlifting MVP for the 2019 season.
Tucker Watson was the boys’ golf MVP with Hanna Latham and Anna Vazquez being named the girls’ golf co-MVPs for 2019.
The Mattingly Family were awarded the Joeseph Ferrell Memorial Award at the athletic banquet Monday night.
The boys’ Bobcat Attitude award went to Kaden Mattingly and Harley Bennett won the Miss Ladycat Attitude award.
The Bobcat Leadership honor was given to Wesley Rogers with Gracyn Cunningham winning the Miss Ladycat Leadership award.
Alex Marston took the honor of Bobcat Total Effort with Hanna Latham taking the honor of Miss Ladycat Total Leadership award.
The Bobcat Student Athlete of the Year was Preston Turner as Danaleigh Styles took home Miss Ladycat Student Athlete of the Year.
The Bobcat Newcomer of the Year was Trevor Marquez with the Miss Ladycat Newcomer of the Year being awarded to Brooke Lawrence.
To wrap up the night, Tucker Watson was named the Bobcat of the Year with Natalie Fulton taking home Miss Ladycat of the Year.
The Mr. Bobcat award went to Wesley Rogers and the Miss Bobcat award went to Bailee Stanfield.
Cross Roads had another strong year athletically and in the classroom and hopes to build on the pieces put in place in 2018-19.
