Malakoff leaning on veteran depth for long postseason run
MALAKOFF–The Malakoff Tigers are again the favorite to win their district entering the 2020 season.
Entering his 12th year as head coach, Jamie Driskell looks to carry the Tigers to another strong performance after falling in the Regional round in 2019.
The Tigers went 11-2 overall last season and finished as District champions with an undefeated 5-0 record. Malakoff blew past Commerce in the Bi-district round and took down Jefferson in Area before falling to Pottsboro by just a touchdown in the Regional round.
Driskell has built a strong program in Malakoff with talented players and a lot of buy-in from his squad. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how things are approached entering this season, but Driskell hopes his players can adjust and carry on through adversity.
