CROSS ROADS–The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the accidental shooting of Cross Roads student Chase Lewallen.
“We received a call April 30 at approximately 11:45 p.m. in reference to a male subject being accidentally shot in the face off of County Road 1315 in the Cross Roads area of Henderson County,” said Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse.
Lewallen’s aunt, Catherine Hollis stated in a Facebook post that, “Chase is awake and talking. The bullet will not be removed, it is dangerously close to his carotid artery and brain stem.” According to Hollis, the bullet destroyed his upper jawbone and had to be removed. The family continues to ask for prayers for Chase and their family.
Sheriff Hillhouse says that the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation and that there is no other information as of press time.
