MALAKOFF–The Eustace cross country teams competed in the cold rain and mud Oct. 29 in Malakoff. It didn’t seem to affect them because they brought back the first-place team championship trophy in every division. This was the 11th year in a row for the JV and varsity to sweep the District meet.  
 The JV girls were meet champions led by Grace Ferrell who got first overall, Naveah Sanchez placed fourth, Elizabeth Chapman placed fifth, Amanda Guillian finished 6th and Melissa Millan placed seventh. 
 The JV boys earned first place with a perfect score. They were led by overall champ Joseph Hunter, who ran an 18:14. Next was second overall Caleb Gonzales, then Jimmy Skeeters who placed third, Owen Stahl who placed fourth, Jayden King placed fifth, Scotty Neeper placed sixth, Ethan Kobelia placed seventh, Navan Sanchez placed ninth, Jaden Stout placed 10th, Sammy Kidwell placed 11th, Chris Thorne placed 12th, Blaine Williamson placed 14th, Landon Jenkins placed 16th, Cooper Leslie placed 17th, Landon Miranda placed 19th, Gabrial Rudman placed 20th, Jason Sanchez placed 21st, Alec Holland placed 22nd and Thenton Estes finished 23rd.
 The varsity girls were meet champs with 40 points, besting second place by 18 points. They were led by their one-two punch Madisen Kulsa and Paige Row who finished first and second overall. Next was freshman Jadie Milner who placed seventh overall, then Morgan Buccafurno placed 14th, Tabitha Rigby placed 16th, Brooklyn Moore placed 19th and Lydia Recer placed 27th. 
 The varsity boys were meet champions with a perfect score. The Bulldogs were led by individual champion Junior Trenton Porte, next was Senior Nate Holland who placed second, freshman Ryan Porte placed third, senior Jackson Byrum was fourth, senior Danny Stout placed fifth, Junior Cooper Reeve placed sixth and junior Jake Haney took home eighth.      
 This performance earned the cross country team a trip to the Regional meet in Huntsville Monday, Nov. 9.
