CEDAR CREEK LAKE–Ticket and sponsorship sales are running at a brisk pace for The Library at Cedar Creek Lake’s annual fund raising gala to be held on Saturday evening, March 30,  at the Athens Country Club.
This year’s theme is “Hooray for Hollywood.” And while attendees can dress anyway they wish, everyone is encouraged to come as their favorite movie personality.  The winner of a best costume contest will be awarded a weekend for two to Hollywood.
The live auction at this point consists of 16 incredible items, including an exquisite diamond bracelet, a trip to Lake Louise and an NFL helmet autographed by the eight greatest quarterbacks in history.
Funds generated by Denim & Diamonds XI help sustain the educational and social programs the library provides to the citizens in the lake area. At last count, these totaled 44 different activities covering preschoolers to seniors.
In 2018, the Library at Cedar Creek Lake received nearly 125, 000 visits, and attendance at programs and events reached a record 14,841 people.
According to library board president, Larry Spiegel, “Children’s illiteracy is a national crisis, and we are especially proud of the hundreds of children our reading programs positively affect each year.  Funds raised at Denim & Diamonds are critical to these efforts.”
Tickets and sponsorships can be purchased at, or at The Library in Seven Points.
