CEDAR CREEK LAKE–While many places have cancelled their fourth of July festivities, here are some events in the area you may want to check out.
Boom Over Seven Points, hosted by Seven Points Fire-Rescue, will be held at the Seven Points ball fields under the water tower Friday, July 4. The Danny Reichle Band will be live at 6 p.m. and fireworks at dark.
The annual parade benefiting the Payne Springs Volunteer Fire Department will be held in the Bushwacker subdivision 11 a.m. Saturday, July 4.
Athens Life Fellowship Church will host their 15th Annual Freedom Fest from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Friday, July 3. Music, food trucks, water slides, snow cones and fireworks will be offered. Former NFL Quarterback and Dallas Cowboys QB Coach Jon Kitna, will be a special guest.
Red, white and boom will also be held Saturday, July 4 at the Kaufman Sports Complex. Arrive at 8:30 p.m. to grab the best viewing spot. Viewers are asked to remain in their cars and enjoy the fireworks from the parking lot.
The 15th Annual Thunder Over Cedar Creek Lake Airshow will also be taking place July Fourth weekend. The show actually takes place at Pinnacle Golf Club, and due to the circumstances this year seating is limited. This is the primary fundraiser for the Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation.
Looking for a lower key celebration this Fourth of July weekend? Check out Triple N Ranch and Winery’s Grand Opening. Located in the Key Ranch area of Trinidad they offer wine tastings (these are an extra cost) on a working longhorn ranch.
