HENDERSON COUNTY–Henderson County Sheriff’s Deputies chased down and arrested a trailer thief on foot Feb. 5 after the owner called in to report its location.
Terry Nolan Proctor, 29, an Athens resident, was arrested after the law enforcement officers spotted him running from a wooded area in the 10000 block of County Road 3822.
The tool-laden trailer was returned to its owner, and Proctor was charged with theft of property between $2,500 and $30,000 and evading arrest.
Meanwhile, 63-year-old Robert Lemming was picked up in Seven Points by Henderson County Narcotics Investigators.
At about mid-afternoon Feb. 5, the team saw the suspect commit a traffic violation. That led to a search of Lemming’s vehicle and the discovery of methamphetamine.
Lemming was taken to the Henderson County Jail for possession of a controlled substance.
Proctor remains behind bars with bonds set at $19,500 as of press time. Lemming was released Feb. 6 after $8,500 bond was posted.
