KAUFMAN COUNTY–Gardner Electric is a local licensed and insured family business that has roots here since 1987. Owner Randall Gardner is happy to reconnect his services to the Kaufman County and surrounding areas.
“My dad started the business and grew up the youngest of nine. He was raised by my grandfather who was a carpenter, so he learned early on to work with his hands,” Gardner said.
Before there was Oncor, it was Dallas Power and Light and that’s where Gardner’s dad worked while he started Gardner Electric on the side. As the company grew and Randall grew up, he would begin to work weekends and summers on electrical jobs. Randall received his Master Electrical License in 1992 and says he has been in the electrical business his whole life.
When asked what set his business apart from other electrical business in the area, Gardner said he loves working with customers and with his hands, and his passion is for the electrical trade. “We have one of the highest job shortages, no one is aware that the average electrician in Texas is 58 years old,” Randall says.
He enjoy’s the platform that his job provides, which allows him to invest in employees and give them a chance to be successful in life. “I have that opportunity while making homes safe and building the trade.”
In 2009, Gardner Electric franchised with Mister Sparky and moved their focus to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, while continuing to service the Kaufman area through Mister Sparky.
After lots of prayer, the Gardner family is excited to come back to their roots and start operating under the Gardner Electrical name to service the Kaufman County and surrounding areas.
Randall Gardner has been married to his wife Amy, a teacher in Kaufman, for 27 years and they have three children.
