CEDAR CREEK LAKE–Sponsors and players are needed for the first annual Patriot Team Golf Tournament to be held Monday, Oct. 14 at the Cedar Creek Country Club in Kemp. The event, in a four-person scramble format, begins at noon with registration and includes a 1 p.m. Shot Gun Start, dinner and awards. There is a $10,000 Hole-in-One prize to be given.
The Patriot Team was formed to support area first responders including active military, to honor the great sacrifice they and their families make in keeping us safe and “running into danger when everyone else is running out.” Tournament organizer Bobbie Jo Taylor said, “As a tribute to our many first responders and military personnel, both present and in the past, we, the Patriot Team at Cedar Creek Country Club, are proud to be organizing this First Annual Golf Tournament to support these men and women who serve our nation and community with dedication and courage.”
Support from the community is needed, both in sponsorships and players. Hole sponsorships start at $100, beverage cart sponsorships at $300 and exclusive hole sponsorships for $500. Placards will be placed with business logo and information to honor the sponsors. Donations of any kind are gratefully accepted. All proceeds will go directly to firefighters in Kemp and Mabank, EMTs and Military personnel.
Golfers are encouraged to represent a first responder or military group on the day of the tournament and to wear insignias signifying that support. Taylor added, “We cannot possibly repay all for the sacrifices made but hope that our outreach efforts bring comfort and peace to those we touch.”
