HENDERSON COUNTY–Every year, this small town performs the same Christmas pageant with the same old Christmas carols and the same old Mary and Joseph except this year’s production has a little more chaos added to it. With the addition of a rowdy family from the “wrong side of the tracks” and no Mrs. Armstrong to lead the pageant, the Bradley family must come together to make this the Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Shazam! Unto you a child is born.
“The Best Christmas Pageant” by Barbara Robinson is a timeless production full of humor and heart warming moments. Henderson County Performing Arts Center (HCPAC) has performed this production many times and it never gets old. This year’s production, led by Director Shaydi Clary and Stage Managers Rye Joblin and Vanessa Onyskow-Lang, consists of a large multi-generational cast and a well-round backstage and technical crew.
This year’s production will surely leave every audience member laughing their socks off. “Sometimes, we have to pause in the middle of rehearsals from us laughing at the cast so much,” said Clary. “It's hard to keep a straight face when every moment has a funny scene or line in it.” This is a definitely a show you cannot miss.
Performances are 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 2, Friday, Dec. 3, Thursday, Dec. 9, Friday, Dec. 10, Saturday, Dec. 11 and 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4 and Sunday, Dec. 5. Reserve your seats now at
