ELM GROVE–After many years of service to the community, Elm Grove Church’s sanctuary is in dire need to be rebuilt. The current state of the building has been deemed unsafe to provide a place of worship, celebrations and other services.
The Elm Grove Church currently has 30 active members, but many more of the community have come and gone continue to call this country church home. Although a small congregation, the church makes an impact with supporting many missions, local and internationally. Good Sam’s, Forever Families and Mercy Ships are a few long-standing giving missions.
Elm Grove Church is considered to be a historical site, tracing the community church ties to the 1870’s. What originated as a log structure, served as a church, school and community gathering place that was moved to the current site in 1883 where it became known as Elm Grove. Throughout the last century, Elm Grove continued to serve the community as a place of worship for multi-denominational services, all working together to make each service respectfully happen.
Effort has been put forth over the past 15 plus years in starting a building fund, however the need for the building has come sooner than anticipated. After having obtained three different contract bids for a new sanctuary the building fund is short of the needed amount. “God has blessed us with a donor that is willing to provide a matching donation up to $100,000. While we have current members who are willing to give more toward this goal, we are still left with a large amount to obtain in faith,” says the church.
We ask that you join us in prayer for a solution to move forward! If Elm Grove Church has a special place in your heart and you feel led to contribute to this fund, donations can be sent to Elm Grove Church Sanctuary Building, P.O. Box 707, Mabank, TX 75147.
