MABANK–Second-year Head Coach Zach Hudson is hoping to build off his first season at the helm of the Mabank Panthers football team.
Hudson returns with a little more experience and stronger bond with his players who are returning for the 2019 season.
The Panthers began their 2018 campaign in a tough way, dropping their first contest in overtime against Emory-Rains, managing just one victory in their first five games of pre-district play.
Mabank went into district play with an even record as they went 1-1 through the first two weeks of their district schedule. The Panthers faced a tough stretch run to end their schedule as they dropped contests to Life Waxahachie, Athens and Midlothian Heritage.
The Panthers are hoping for a more potent offense and a stronger defense as they allowed 128 more points than they scored during the 2018 season.
With a year under his belt at Mabank and many years of experience in the game, Hudson looks to have a stronger, more emboldened team in 2019 and they are looking to make their stamp on the season.
Mabank kicks things off Friday, Aug. 30 at 7:30 p.m. as they take on Emory-Rains at Panther Stadium in Mabank.
