MALAKOFF–In a touching ceremony at May’s council meeting, outgoing councilwoman Jeanette King was given a key to the city of Malakoff and Saturday, May 18, 2019 was proclaimed “Jeanette King Day” for her outstanding public service over the past 22 years. King lost her bid for the council seat to Kristi Dalrymple by 20 votes.
“Ms. King has always demonstrated compassion and concern for all the citizens of Malakoff. Her attitude and dedication has served as an excellent example throughout the community over the years” said Mayor Delois Pagitt. In her many years serving the city King played an integral role in helping to establish the EDC (Economic Development Corporation) and the Crime Control  Prevention Services and participated in securing grants which helped the elderly and low income families with housing.
