Jerry Neal

A memorial service for Jerry Lynn Neal will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Payne Springs United Methodist Church with visitation starting at 10 a.m.
Jerry was born Feb. 5, 1933, in Tom Bean, to parents Silas and Mabel Neal and entered into eternal rest June 18, 2019, at the age of 86.
Jerry graduated from White Wright High School. He worked for Quaker Oats Credit Union, then Texas Credit Union League, retiring in 1990 after 26 years. In 1992 he went to work for Freestone Credit Union in Teague until his passing.
When Jerry was able, he enjoyed working on cars. He especially enjoyed playing golf and was a master domino player. He was a past Master of Cedar Creek Lake Masonic Lodge 1431, past High Priest and TIM with Dale E. Miller Chapter and Council and past Commander at Taylor Commandery. Jerry was a lifetime Baptist until 2013, then joined Payne Springs United Methodist Church. He was an amazing man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Joy Ann Neal, son Jeffery Neal, sister Hazel Booher and brother Vernon Neal.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Cathy Neal of Gun Barrel City, sons James Neal and wife Marcelle of Tool and Joe Neal and wife Kelly of Dallas, daughter Judy Schmitz and husband Kennon of Dallas, 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, brothers Wayne Neal of Sherman and Roy Neal of Sherman, numerous nieces and nephews, other loving family members and many more lifelong friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Jerry’s honor to Payne Springs United Methodist Church, 9667 TX Hwy. 198, Payne Springs, Texas 75156 or (903) 451-2978.
