A memorial service for Joe Lee Allen will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2019 at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank, with Rev. Steve Glossup officiating.
Joe was born April 13, 1935 in Payne Springs to parents Vernon and Jewel (Irby) Burns and raised by her grandparents Walter and Nicie Burns. Joe entered into eternal rest  May 7, 2019 at the age of 84.
Family was important to Joe, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed talking and offering sage advice. Joe also loved going fishing and cooking.
She was a member of Mabank Church of Christ. Joe was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Joe was preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Maria Burns, grandparents Walter and Nicie Burns, husband Wayne Allen, granddaughter Kristie Hamilton and great-granddaughter Violet Holmes.
She is survived by her daughters Barbara Hamilton and husband Lee of Mabank, Kim Forester of Mabank and Kasey Millender of Mabank, grandchildren Andrew Hamilton, Shannon Henderson, John Hamilton, Corey Henderson, Zac Henderson, Rachel Williford and husband Chris, James Hamilton and John Tanner Allen, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, brothers David Vernon Burns and wife Lydia of Florida, Hans Burns of Mesquite, Frank Burns of Dallas and Les Burns of Wylie, sister Maria Hicks and husband Ron of Colleyville, numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and many more lifelong friends.
