The Community Food Pantry in Tool relies on its many volunteers, their “Angels” and the partnership with churches St. Jude’s Catholic Church, First Baptist Church of Tool, Providence Baptist and the Cedar Creek Lake United Methodist Church to serve the 400+ families each month, an ever-growing number in the days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Workers prepare boxes with non-perishables, frozen meat and produce for drive-through distribution. The drive-through operates from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The food pantry also has special senior boxes and weekend food kits for children who are now out of school for the remainder of the year. The boxes contain food and snacks children can prepare for themselves.
