Kerens Chief of Police on paid leave

KERENS–The City of Kerens announced Aug. 14 that Police Chief Bryan Miers has been put on paid administrative leave as of Aug. 9 due to allegations of misconduct within the workplace. In accordance with city policy, a third party investigator will be hired to investigate these claims and report their findings to the City Attorney, Mayor and City Council.
At the conclusion of the investigation, appropriate action will be taken by the above-mentioned city officials.
The City of Kerens will have no further comment until the investigation is completed.
Miers was arrested April 25 on two counts of ‘no show on served subpoena.
In July 2010,  Miers’ was given a two week suspension from his position, following his arrest on a charge of assault causing bodily injury/family violence.
