Tables buying downtown buildings
KERENS–Kerens Economic Development Corp. (EDC) board members voted Sept. 17 to adopt the organization’s 2018-19 budget, which foresees balanced revenues and expenses through the end of the EDC fiscal year, which runs annually until Sept. 30.
The EDC board also tabled action on possibly purchasing downtown buildings located at 208, 210 and 212 S. Colket Avenue, which have been offered by the current owner to the City of Kerens. The EDC is evaluating the transaction and in the process of gathering more information, said Kerens City Administrator Katherine Combs, who is an ex officio EDC board member and serves as board secretary.
