Lady ’Cats volleyball tromps Trinidad in straight sets

KERENS–The Kerens Lady ’Cats volleyball season continued Sept. 14 with a straight-set victory over district foe Trinidad, following Kerens’ first conference loss to Cross Roads on Sept. 11. That victory moved Kerens’ district record to 2-1, while the overall season record increased to 25-4.

Kerens prevailed over the Trinidad Lady Trojans by scores of 25-14, 25-15 and 25-13. The Lady ’Cats, which are ranked No. 4 in Class 2A by the Texas Girls Coaches Association poll published on Sept. 18, continued district play by traveling to Latexo on Tuesday, Sept. 18 (the results of which were unavailable by The Tribune’s Wednesday press time). The Kerens girls go to Grapeland tonight (Friday, Sept. 21) before facing Neches in the volleyball team’s third-consecutive district away game, on Tuesday, Sept. 25.
