Eustace falls to 5-2 in district with loss to Scurry-Rosser
SCURRY-ROSSER–The Eustace Lady Bulldogs dropped just their second district contest Friday, Oct. 4 on the road against the Scurry-Rosser Lady Wildcats.
The Lady Bulldogs came out with some fight in the first set but were unable to over the Lady Wildcats as they fell 25-12.
Entering the second set, the Lady Bulldogs were just overpowered by Scurry-Rosser as the Lady Wildcats dominated 25-6 to take a two-set lead entering the third set.
With Eustace facing a loss entering the third set, the Lady Bulldogs fought hard out of the gate but couldn’t overcome their battle with the Lady Wildcats as Scurry-Rosser secured a 25-16 victory to win three sets to zero. Scurry-Rosser has yet to lose a set in district play as they have rattled off 21 straight set victories and sit at 7-0 in district.
The loss drops Eustace to 21-9 overall and 5-2 in district play. The Lady Bulldogs sit in third place in their district behind Palmer (5-1) and Scurry-Rosser (7-0).
Eustace returns to action Friday, Oct. 11 on the road against the Mildred Eaglettes at 4:30 p.m.
