Funeral services for Loretta M. Hamilton will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Mabank with Rev. Dan Gurley officiating.
Loretta was born Dec. 21, 1928 in Newark, Ohio to parents Theodore William and Ethel (Leyland) Mours and entered into eternal rest Oct. 26, 2019 at the age of 90.
Loretta was an amazing and devoted mother and wife. She was very involved in the lives of her husband and four boys; attending their many sports activities, serving as Scout den mother and being an important part of all their many hunting adventures. She probably helped raise nearly 1,000 bird dogs in her lifetime.
She was an amazing cook - famous for her quail dinners and Italian cream cheese cake.
She was an avid golfer and a member of the Women’s Golf Association. She was active in her community through her church, volunteering at the Human Society and other organizations.
She also enjoyed gardening - specifically her rose bushes which thrived under her love and care.
Retta was also known for her outstanding sense of humor.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dr. Robert L. Hamilton, son Dr. Roger Hamilton and sister Rita Smith.
She is survived by her sons Rodney Hamilton and wife Dell of Kemp, Ryan Hamilton and Fran Sanders of Payne Springs and Ross Hamilton and wife Sara of Mabank and Cynthia (Hamilton) Hadorn and husband Steve of Austin, grandchildren Staci Barton and husband Stoney, Brady Hamilton, Ashley Hamilton, Tyler Hamilton and wife Kelsey, Mark Hamilton, Lauren Hamilton, Bryan Miller and wife Mari and Larry Miller and wife Cortney, great-grandchildren Stormey, Saylor, Abbey, Kennedy, Levi, Rhett, Brylee, Lexi and Sir Parker.
Retta will be missed immensely by her family and many friends who knew and loved her.
