MABANK-Mabank ISD Trustees met in a special session Monday, Jan. 27 and accepted the resignation of Superintendent Lee Joffre. Joffre was not present at the meeting.
The Superintendent’s contract was the last item on the agenda for the regular board meeting Jan. 21 when the board convened into executive session just after 8 p.m. When the board returned to open session at 11:30 p.m., they took no action other than to schedule the special session for Monday.
Board President Kenneth Odom read the following statement, “This morning the Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of Superintendent Lee Joffre and has named Brad Koskelin the Acting Superintendent, effective immediately. This situation was resolved to the parties’ mutual satisfaction, and the Board will have no further comment other than to say we thank Mr. Joffre for his service to Mabank Independent School District and we wish him well in his future endeavors. We will begin discussing a search for the next superintendent at our next board meeting.”
He added, “We thank our staff for their support, commitment and loyalty to our district and our students and we encourage everyone to maintain their focus on being the best school district in North Texas.”
