Mabank issues Proclamation

MABANK–Mabank City Council met Oct. 6 in regular session and issued a proclamation for the First Presbyterian Church of Mabank Fall Festival that will be held Oct. 30 – 31 and Nov. 3.
During the meeting council addressed several zoning changes. The first for the new location of the Mabank Nursing Home that is relocating to eight acres of property on Highway 175. The new location will be a 38,000 square foot facility. Council approved the zoning change from agricultural to commercial with no opposition. 
Next for a zoning change, was a small city owned triangle piece of property that the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and the city agreed to a land swap. The EDC will package that piece of land with an adjacent property and sell. This was also approved from the council with no oppostion. 
In other business, council members:
• Approved a zone change to commercial zoning for Property ID 15617 located at W. Mason Street. 
• Approved a petition request for annexationfor Roger and Loretta Whitton. 
• Approved a request to transfer Property ID 15583 and Property ID 30814 from the City of Mabank to Mabank EDC in exchange for Property ID 30801. 
• Heard Staff Reports, National Night Out to be held Oct. 19 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., Tri-County Library Open House to be held Oct. 20 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m., Market Street Trunk or Treat will be held, with safety precautions in place.
