KYLE–Madison Brown, a senior at Mabank High School, competed in the UIL 4A girls’ State golf tournament in Kyle at Plum Creek Golf Course Monday and Tuesday, May 13-14.
Brown shot 89-89 to finish off a great senior year. Brown finished 2019 as the District champion, an All-Regional tournament selection and State qualifier.
Mabank Golf Head Coach Jeff Lee was impressed by the amount of work that Brown put in through her three years of golf at Mabank and the steps she took to improve her game.
“Madison put in a lot of hard work and hours to get her to this point,” Lee said. “She has only been playing competitive golf for three years now and has achieved a lot of honors. I am very proud of her.”
Brown was named the Mabank Girls’ Golfer of the Year at the annual athletic banquet May 6 at Mabank High School.
After graduation, Brown will be playing golf at the next level at Tyler Junior College this fall for the Lady Apaches.
