Faces 25 years to life for continual assault of juvenile
ATHENS–A Cross Roads man confessed to continually sexally assaulting a juvenile over a period of several years according to Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse.
William Eugene Hesseltine, 58, of Cross Roads, was brought in for questioning Oct. 11, where he confessed to the crimes.
When Investigators Jerry Moore and William Thornton first interviewed the victim, she made an “outcry” for help.
Hesseltine immediately told both Moore and Thornton he knew why they wanted to speak with him.
Hesseltine then confessed to continual sexual assault of the victim for years.
“These are cases that tear at your soul,” Hillhouse said. “He stole this victim’s childhood and left deep wounds that will take a lifetime to heal.”
Under Texas law, Hesseltine faces 25 years to life in prison.
According to jail records, bond is currently set at $60,000.
