HENDERSON COUNTY–A man was arrested and methamphetamines were seized Tuesday after Henderson County Narcotics Investigators and a team of Deputies, including a K-9 unit, executed on a raid in the Cherokee Shores Subdivision.
Kevin Drew Compton, 60, of Payne Springs was captured at the residence in the 100 block of Chicota.
“This particular subdivision has long been known as a haven for drug dealers and users,” Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said. “Our efforts there have made a difference over the years, but we take nothing for granted. If we think there are drugs there, we strike.”
Shortly before 1:30 p.m., Narcotics Investigators Gabriel Shue and Kenneth Slaton executed the search warrant signed by Gun Barrel City Municipal Judge Grace Wallace.
Along for the raid were K-9 Deputy Meagan Hogan and Investigators Daniel Wright, William Thornton and Dustin Smith.
In addition to the meth, the team also found items commonly used to smoke the narcotics.
Compton was charged with possession of a controlled substance and taken to the Henderson County Jail.
