Margie Harris

Margie Harris 90, of Mabank passed away Dec. 30, 2020 in the comfort of her home. Surrounded by her loving husband Elmer Harris and all six of their children. A memorial service was held Jan. 4, 2021 at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Margie Lee Harris was born to L.A. and Lillie Atchley in Hamilton County Sept. 24, 1930. 
She graduated from Evant High School in 1948. After graduation Margie moved to Hamilton, where she met her husband Elmer Harris. They married Jan. 14, 1949. They were married almost 72 years. 
Margie’s career consisted of banking and savings and loans. Margie’s favorite thing to do was travel. She was a member of Legendary Baptist Church in Gun Barrel City. 
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, sister Lela Baker and brother-in-law Jack Banks. 
She is survived by her husband Elmer Harris, children Phyllis Pratt and husband Joe, Doug Harris, Jerry Harris and wife Kim, Debbie Mercer and husband Ronnie, Kathy Patteson and husband Russell and Shelly Horn and husband Steve, sister Dean Kendall, sister-in-law Dorothy Banks as well as 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
