ATHENS–Athens Masonic Lodge #165 is hosting Carter Bloodcare for an important Community blood drive at Brookshire's Saturday, Nov. 14. The blood collected will help replenish the drastically low blood supply in the East Texas area and support the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, located in Dallas.
The blood drive will take place from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. in the Brookshire's parking lot at 807 East Tyler Street, in Athens. The blood center requests that donors bring a government-issued photo ID to donate and please eat a good breakfast or lunch before arriving.
“Blood supplies have depleted over the past few months due to a drop in donations tied to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Blood Drive Chairman for the Athens Masonic Lodge, Jeff Almrud. “Replenishing these blood supplies is immediately necessary as elective surgeries are taking place and the need for blood will continue to rise.”
Carter Bloodcare is providing COVID-19 antibody testing for all donors as a big thank you to our community!
Donors may call Carter Bloodcare for more information at (903) 504-0812.  They may also visit the Carter Bloodcare website to schedule a donation time-slot at www.carterbloodcare.org.
