CEDAR CREEK LAKE–The hottest election issue this time round, locally was with the voters of Eustace ISD.
The trustees are set to canvass the vote Tuesday (May 8, after press deadline) in a called meeting for 5:30 p.m. With the yeas and nays separated by just one vote and a number of provisional ballots, the outcome is too close to call. Voters were asked to fund a bond for $27.5 million to build a new Intermediate School building. Trustees and community are informed the current facility was built 50 years ago and maintenance issues are leaning toward diminsihing return on investment. Also, the current facility has no room for growth in student population or course offerings.
