Oleta Haney

Oleta Haney, passed away peacefully July17, 2018 at the tender age of 87 years old. Oleta has been a resident of the Cedar Creek area since 1978 before moving to Waco last year to be near her son Richard, after the passing of her beloved B.J. She was born in Chilton, the daughter of Cliff and Iva Mae Busby. She worked as a bookkeeper for Community State Bank. She and B.J. married in 1975 and moved to Cedar Creek in 1978. They were members of Cedar Creek United Oleta Haney Methodist Church. She loved her family and loved to cook. She was a lifetime member of the Seven Points VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing poker and other card games. She was preceded in death by her husband BJ Haney, parents Cliff and Iva Mae Busby, brothers J.C. Busby and Wilburn (Buck) Busby, daughter Debbie Lamb, sister Flo Hague and husband Bill. Surviving her are son Richard Braun and wife Teresa, step-children Craig Haney, Regina Hill and husband Billy, Lanelle Farmer and husband Russell and special nephew Tom Busby. A private burial will be held by the family at a later date.
