PAYNE SPRINGS-An early morning fire in an outdoor kitchen required assistance from Payne Springs Fire Rescue (PSFR) July 10.
PSFR was alerted to a structure fire on Waterfront Drive at 5:49 a.m.
When PSFR Chief 1 arrived, they found a working fire in the area of the outdoor kitchen. As crews began to arrive, they started to open up the area, including the outside wall, to extinguish the fire and check for an extension.
The structure did have a lot of smoke inside, leading the crew to use the positive pressure fan to ventilate the large structure.
This was the 31st working structure fire for PSFR this year. They were assisted on-site by the Gun Barrel City Fire Department.
