Panthers use strong fourth inning to top Wildcats

MABANK–The Mabank Panthers used a crazy fourth inning to defeat the Palestine Wildcats March 16 at home.
After surrendering five runs in the top of the fourth inning, the Panthers plate four runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning on their way to an 8-5 win over the Wildcats. 
The Panthers plated the first run of the game to take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning before adding another two runs in the bottom of the third inning to increase their lead to 3-0.
The Wildcats’ bats woke up in the top of the fourth inning as they rattled off five runs to take their first lead of the night, 5-3. 
The Panthers topped their total output in the bottom of the fourth inning as they pushed across four runs to take a 7-5 lead over the Wildcats.
Mabank added a late insurance run in the bottom of the sixth inning as they topped Palestine 8-5. 
Caleb Goforth had a big night at the plate for the Panthers with three RBIs against the Wildcats.
Sam Kincaid had the start on the mound for the Panthers and went 3.2 innings before being pulled with two outs in the fourth inning. Dalton McKinley took over and picked up the final out in the fourth inning and picked up the win with 3.1 innings of work for the Panthers as they provided the run support in the bottom half of the inning.
McKinley and Kincaid each struck out four batters in the win over Palestine. 
The Panthers begin their district schedule March 23 at home against Brownsboro.
