Preparing for unique graduation ceremonies

CEDAR CREEK LAKE–Announcing the unique graduation plans for the Seniors of 2020 has been a difficult task with multiple event changes. The 2019-2020 school year has not been an ordinary school year to say the least, however this is no ordinary Senior class.
The Senior class of 2020 was born during a time when our country mourned the devastation of 9/11 and will be graduating during unprecedented times.
Although graduation plans may not be what was intended by the schools or families, here are the plans per each district for high school graduations:
Kemp High School will hold their graduation ceremony Saturday May 23 at the Kemp High School football field located at 220 State Highway 274. Each Senior is provided an allotted time slot beginning at 10 a.m.and allowed 7 guests. The ceremony will be recorded and posted on the Kemp ISD website. Kemp ISD is planning a Senior Parade to honor the Seniors beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday May 23.
Mabank High School will hold their graduation Saturday May 23 on the front steps of Mabank High School located at 18786 US 175 at 2 p.m. immediately following a Senior parade that begins at Mabank Pavilion at 12:30 p.m.
Eustace High School will hold their graduation ceremony 9 a.m. Saturday June 6 at Bulldog Stadium weather permitting. The ceremony will be broadcast on YouTube and linked on social media.
Malakoff High School will hold their graduation ceremony in person 7:30 p.m. Friday May 29 at Tiger Stadium. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the Living for the Brand Cowboy Church located on Loop 7 in Athens.
Crossroads High School will hold their graduation ceremony at 7 p.m. Friday May 22 in the Crossroads ISD Student Event Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and a video will be posted to Facebook.
Athens High School will hold their graduation ceremony Friday May 29 with a Senior Parade held at 5:30 p.m. May 28 in lieu of the traditional Senior walk. No other details were provided at press time.  
All graduation services have attendee restrictions due to COVID-19. Please check with your local high school or graduate for details and further information.
