HENDERSON COUNTY–Henderson County residents will have an opportunity to rid themselves of old tires and electronics from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21. The event is sponsored by Keep Athens Beautiful in conjunction with Commodity Recycling Solutions and will be held at the Henderson County Judicial Building located at 109 West Corsicana Street in Athens.
Passenger and truck tires will be accepted, no tractor tires and no rims allowed. Electronic items eligible for the event include computers, laptops, power supplies, computer accessories, monitors, televisions, printers, copiers, fax machines, networking equipment, servers, gaming systems, cell phones, VCRs and DVD players.
No paint, light bulbs, alkaline batteries, gasoline, oils or freon items are included in this event.
Proof of residency in Henderson County is required to participate. Electric bill or driver license is acceptable proof.
Participants are advised to get there early as the event will end when the truck is full or at 11:30 a.m., whichever comes first. The published list is not exhaustive.
