Richards wins County Judge seat

In Kaufman County, voters tapped former Terrell mayor Hal Richards for County Judge. Election results show a win of 3,330 to 2,931 over Precinct 4 Commissioner Jakie Allen. In the race for Precinct 4 Commissioner, Ken Cates slipped past Monty Roberts 1,075 to 1,028. Both men will be installed in office Jan. 1, 2019, having no Democrat opponent.

In Henderson County, the race for Precinct 2 Commissioner went to Scott Tuley, former Mabank ISD trustee. Voters chose him over David Conner, 850 to 816. Current Commissioner Wade McKinney won the County Judge seat in March with more than 50 percent of the vote. Current County Judge Richard Sanders has set his retirement at the end of his term (Dec. 31).
