MALAKOFF–The Malakoff Lady Tigers got a strong performance at the plate and in the circle March 29 at home as they defeated the Kemp Lady Yellowjackets.
Bailey Riley threw a complete game one-hit shutout as the Lady Tigers scored in the final three innings to top Kemp 5-0.
After 3.5 scoreless innings, the Lady Tigers plated the first run of the night in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 1-0 lead.
Malakoff added another run in the fifth inning to increase their lead to 2-0 over the Lady ’Jackets.
The Lady Tigers got some insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning as they crossed the plate three times to make it a 5-0 game.
Riley closed out the Lady ’Jackets in the top of the seventh inning to finish out the complete game.
Riley went the distance, allowing no runs on one hit, striking out 13 Kemp batters.
Malakoff was led offensively by Kendall Ray, who finished with two hits and two RBIs. Emily Spiva added two hits and one RBI against the Lady ’Jackets.
Emri Carson went six innings for the Lady ’Jackets, surrendering five runs on six hits, striking out four Lady Tiger batters.
